The annual Lake Placid Lions Club ski jumping competition, the final ski jumping meet on the 2013 Eastern schedule, was again scheduled with the NYSEF Nordic Kids Ski Festival. The advertising poster promised ski jumping, cross country, paintball biathlon, and ice cream, for kids Junior-II and younger. The plan was to jump the K-48 hill and the new K-20 but when the ORDA crew began to clear the last bits of snow from the 48 meter track, they discovered that a section of the built-up inrun had failed and had sunk several inches, making it impossible to ski on the porcelain summer track. Organizers alerted Eastern jumpers that the 48 meter jumping would be dropped from the program but that the other planned events were still on the schedule. This probably reduced the number of jumpers making the trip to Lake Placid for the season finale. Here are the results of the 20 meter jumping competition.
