When Tom Dodds of the Ford-Sayre club in Hanover scheduled the Nordic Kids (aka BKL) Festival on Friday and Saturday, Feb 1-2, Jon Farnham of the Lebanon Outing Club agreed to host a ski jumping competition on their three hills on Sunday to fill out the weekend. Then when the great end-of-January thaw wiped out the snow at Hanover, Farnham used the durability of man-made snow and two extra days of lead-time to pull off a successful 'Candy Bar Meet' on the 10, 25 and 50 meter jumps at Storrs Hill. Thirty four skiers took part, from Junior-5 to Masters.
Each competitor was scored on two jumps -- the total score for each jump was the skier's distance in meters plus a 'Style Bonus' of up to two points.
